Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Japanese Voice Studio ("the Service") at irodori-tts-studio.vercel.app, operated by Valentin Bejan, based in Romania ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service is a web application that generates synthetic Japanese speech and related audio from text you provide, with tools for organizing voices, scripts, translation, editing, and sound effects. It is provided free of charge, "as is", and may change or be discontinued at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Clone, imitate, or synthesize the voice of a real, identifiable person without their explicit consent.
• Create content intended to deceive, impersonate, defraud, or mislead (including deepfakes presented as genuine).
• Produce content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that infringes anyone's rights.
• Generate content that sexualizes or harms minors, or that promotes violence or illegal activity.
• Abuse, overload, scrape, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service or its infrastructure.
• Resell or redistribute the Service itself (as opposed to the audio you legitimately generate).

4. Your content and your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the text, audio, and other content you submit and generate, and for ensuring you have all necessary rights and permissions — including consent for any reference audio or voice you provide. You agree to comply with the underlying AI model licenses and their ethical-use conditions.

5. Ownership and intellectual property

• Your generated audio: subject to the underlying model licenses, you own the audio you generate and may use it for your own projects, including commercially.
• The Service: the application, its design, and its code remain our property (or that of our licensors). These Terms grant you no rights to them beyond using the Service as intended.
• AI models: the Service relies on third-party AI models under their own licenses. Your use of generated output is also subject to those licenses.

6. AI-generated content

All audio produced is AI-generated, may contain inaccuracies or artifacts, and may carry a watermark identifying it as AI-generated. You must not misrepresent AI-generated audio as a genuine recording of a real person, and you are responsible for disclosing AI generation where required by law or platform rules.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that generated output will meet your expectations or be error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data (including browser-stored data you lose by clearing your browser), arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Romanian and EU consumer law.

9. Service availability

The Service is free and may be modified, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. We may also apply usage limits (for example, rate limits) to protect the Service.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (hosting, processing, translation, donations, etc.). We are not responsible for the availability or actions of those third parties, and your use of linked services (such as Ko-fi) is governed by their own terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Romania, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, a notice on the Service.
